Freelance Workshop Facilitators 

We are looking to expand our pool of freelance facilitators, and are looking for creative practitioners who can produce pre-recorded half hour workshops at home. 

 

About us:

Creative CoLab is a participatory art organisation based in Worcester. We provide arts, heritage and play programmes for young people in Worcestershire, including workshops; mentoring opportunities; and co-developed programmes which give young people the space to express themselves. 

 

About the role:

We are looking for artists from across the artistic spectrum to deliver half hour workshops on their creative practice. These could be introductory sessions, themed sessions (e.g. looking at heroes and villains in storytelling), or workshops using new skills within an already established practice (e.g. photo editing to build photography skills). 

 

We welcome applications from artists even if they have not facilitated before, as support can be provided by our team in developing a workshop plan. What we are specifically looking for are artists who want to share skills and inspire young artists. 

 

Workshops need to be suitable for audiences aged 13+

All workshops need to be pre-recorded at home - you must have access to your own camera, but we can post you items such as smartphone suitable tripods. 

 

Fee

Workshops are paid at £150 per session, we also welcome applications from those interested in facilitating multiple workshops, but each session must stand alone. 

 

How to apply:

Please apply to workwithus@creativecolab.org.uk with a CV or short description of your creative practice and previous experience (max 250 words or 3minute video), alongside a description of the workshops you wish to run - including outcomes and potential activities by the 28th May. 

 

Shortlisted facilitators will go on to have an informal conversation with the Creative CoLab team, questions and topics of discussion can be distributed in advance.

Freelance Blog Post Writers 

We are commissioning 6 freelance writers to write short, informal essays (around 600 words) exploring issues within the arts and cultural sector about which they care. 

 

About us:

Creative CoLab is a participatory art organisation based in Worcester. We provide arts, heritage and play programmes for young people in Worcestershire, including workshops; mentoring opportunities; and co-developed programmes which give young people the space to express themselves. 

 

About the role:

Sort of Nothing Like A Bookclub is a semi-regular newsletter which includes a deep dive on a topic and a selection of recommended additional reading. Previous issues have explored class representation in the arts, the importance of LGBTQ+ History Month, mental health and protecting staff wellbeing  in the cultural sector. 

 

We are commissioning 6 artists to write a short essay on a topic about which they care deeply, this could be a systemic issue or an element of their practice. This does not need to be a personal story, we are not looking to mine people’s lived experiences. Previous experience is not essential, but is a bonus. We are looking for artists who are able to contribute a well researched which can generate discussion, or inspire others 

 

Fee

£100 fee per article.
